The Iris silk dressing gown is one of simplicity imbued with a bit of glamour in a robe. The wrap style allows for the ties to be in the back or the front. The slit sides add a bit of drama in motion, as the back flares out in a lovely way. The slit sleeves allow the wearer to easily move through the morning, while keeping them safely out of the way. The delicate French bouquet lace applique is both stunning and feminine, and the lace insert in the back gusset allows just a hint of skin.
Iris is the Greek goddess of the Rainbow, and the personification of what was believed to be the goddesses dress. She had golden wings attached at the shoulder, and winged sandals on her feet. Iris restored calm and balance to the natural world after a storm, hence the rainbow is her predominant symbol.
